Experienced CEO & CFO from the Energy & Renewables sector.

I’ve worked in Exec level roles for an energy group for the last nine years in various roles, the last of which was Regional CEO for the UK Group. I was responsible for over two hundred employees across five divisions, with operations across the UK and Norway. Prior to Mabanaft, I was at Glencore Plc performing various Finance roles within the Agri and Oil & Gas divisions.

I’m now embarking on a new chapter in my career and am looking for exciting interim roles. My background is in Finance (FCCA, MSc Finance) but I’ve spent the last four years in commercial roles. So, I’d be happy to consider both interim CEO/MD and CFO roles. I’d like to work with businesses embarking on change programmes, especially those requiring corporate turnarounds, having done multiple times at Mabanaft.

Headline achievements:

• Corporate Turnaround:  Turned around a failing business from a £14m loss to a £14m profit.
• Change & Transformation:  Within weeks of taking on the Regional CEO role, I made the following decisions (all actioned & closed within a few months):
  • Divestment of unprofitable business (one-off PnL generated of £1.8m)
  • Merging divisions that operate in the same market (£300k saving p/a)
  • Streamlined the Finance function (Saving £250k p/a)
  • Established a UK leadership team.
  • Improved UK comms (introduced town halls and newsletter)
• Results: Delivered record UK 2020 results, despite the pandemic (£15m EBT, RoE 28%)
• M&A: acquired multiple truck stops, generating 20% RoE contribution
• Treasury: Added £250m of new banking facilities and stricter controls over working capital management
• Strategy: Project Lead for the Global Marketing Strategy Review at Mabanaft (1q21)
• Systems: Implemented SAP during 2019
• Employee wellbeing: Launched Mental Health awareness programme within the UK Group
• Digitilisation: Sponsored the ‘straight-through processing’ project
• IPO prep: Heavily involved in preparing the Oil & Gas MI for the Glencore IPO
