For nearly 20 years the IIM has been a member of the Senate of The Genesis Initiative Limited (Genesis) and is also represented on its board of directors.
The Genesis Senate largely consists of trade associations and similar bodies such as the IIM. These in turn represent their memberships comprising businesses of all sizes including a large number of micro-businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises (collectively “MSMEs”).
One of Genesis’ current initiatives has been to make arrangements for the Business Credit Card issued by Capital on Tap, a Visa Issuer, to be available to help any businesses within the Genesis “family” that would like to take this offer up.

FinFe (Finance for Entrepreneurs)
Supporting UK Business to Source Finance
Research carried out in 2019 showed that SMEs’ first port of call for finance would be their high street bank, but if they were turned down, they were not aware of other specialist funders available to UK businesses or where/how to find them.
The IIM has partnered with Finance for Entrepreneurs (FinFE) and Finance For Female Entrepreneurs (FFE), which have facilitated access to a designated online platform, Funder Finder. Owned and operated by Alternative Business Funding, a provider approved by the British Business Bank and HM Treasury, Funder Finder matches SMEs with an impressive selection of specialist funders within minutes.
Access to the platform and funding is available to both IIM members and their clients. The platform can be reached by clicking on the FinFE logo to the right, which will take you to the IIM’s dedicated landing page at Funder Finder.
Accessing the platform will not affect an applicant’s credit rating, and any finance obtained will cost no more than if an application had been made to the chosen funder direct.
If an applicant requires personal advice on funding options, a team of experienced independent specialist advisers located cross the UK is available and can be accessed through Click Business Finance.
It must be stressed that neither the IIM nor FinFE is endorsing, promoting or recommending any particular funding option. It is for each potential applicant to carry out their own research as to whether the funding will meet their needs or be suitable for their business, and the decision to apply for funding from any particular funder, or not, will rest solely with the applicant acting on their own account.
