The IIM is reconvening London events with a presentation on IR35 key issues and its current consultation in conjunction with Paul Mason of Abbey Tax at Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes on the evening of the 29 June 2016
The evening’s topic is IR35: The key issues and the myths
We’ll be addressing:
- HMRC’s changing approach to enquiries;
- Travel & Subsistence relief and PSCs;
- IR35 and the Public Sector;
- Issues for Office holders;
- Understanding your ‘IR35 status’ and the measures that you can take now to protect yourself and give you peace of mind.
The session will be delivered by Paul Mason from Abbey Tax and facilitated by Ad van der Rest, Chairman of the IIM.
Paul Mason worked in general practice before moving into the insurance and consultancy arena. He has worked with accountancy practices since 1991, and has had particular involvement with the contractor & interim market since 2001. Paul heads up Abbey Tax’s Contractor Unit, which provides contract reviews and tax losses insurance for contractors/freelancers nationwide. Paul regularly speaks on IR35 and related topics and works closely with Abbey Tax’s investigations specialists in a team whose role is to ensure freelancers get the best defence in an IR35 enquiry.

- 6.30pm networking (with food) – though we welcome early birds from 6.00pm,
- 7.15 Headline discussion – (Ad, Paul and the audience)
- 9.00pm: Close – though there is a bar nearby if any wish to continue
Networking and catching up may continue in the bar thereafter.
We’ll be at the Sherlock Holmes hotel, Baker Street (in room: Doyle 3).
Warm nibbles are included as is orange juice and water. There is a paid bar conveniently situated for those who want something stronger.
Simply to cover our costs, tickets are £10 for IIM Members and £25 for Non-members. All are welcome: Interims, Providers, other sector stakeholders.
