The IIM is delighted to run its April London event in conjunction with the excellent support of Boyden UK Interim, plus Withers LLP and Qdos Accounting as speakers for the evening. The event is being hosted by Withers LLP at their Old Bailey offices………
Topic: IR35 Changes 2020: How ready Are You (and the Industry)?
Event Timing: Doors open from 1800; with a prompt 1830 start, running to c. 2100 close.
Speakers: The talk will be led by Withers LLP legal and Qdos accounting experts in the field.
Aspects covered will be:
- Current regulations application in the public sector
- Forecast adaption and adoption for the private sector
- Practical experience of current issues for the interim practitioner community
- Key aspects to consider now and in future for how we work, including:
- Establishing the end client relationship – what needs to change
- Impact on the provider relationship
- Writing the contract
- Defining how we operate end to end: saying what we will do and doing what we say (n the contract)
- Implications for the journey to prepare effectively for 2020
Format:
Active presentation and discussion from our Withers and Qdos experts. As ever, we encourage good quality interaction with all presenters for a most informative, business relevant and enjoyable evening.
Formal presentations will be followed by a Q&A session to a panel.
NB: the evening is one of relevant industry-wide information sharing: it is not possible to deal with any specific individual issues on the day. We are sure that should this level of discussion be required by any attendees, that either Withers or Qdos would be happy to discuss with you separately on a commercial basis.
There will be plenty of opportunity for networking afterwards over a drink and light buffet and follow-up with all presenters and IIM executive members present.
The Evening:
The Chancellor’s Spring Statement will confirm that the government, led by HMRC, will be implementing the “successful” changes made in the public sector in 2018, to the private sector (and third sector) in 2020. There is also HMRC’s latest public consultation on how the changes should be made currently running until May 28th
This IIM event is a tremendous opportunity to benefit from the input of subject matter experts who can offer guidance on how both the individual interim needs to be thinking about operating from 2020 onwards and how the industry needs to work together to present the most effective approach to ensure a smooth transition.
The IIM sees this as a starting point to develop an approach to help members, and the industry at large to manage the transition being enforced by HMRC and The Treasury. We see this issue as one of the most important to impact on our members’ way of working for some time and strongly recommend attendance if at all possible.
