  • IIM Webinar: An Introduction to the Interim Profession

The IIM is aware that an increasing number of executives are considering a career transition from the world of permanent employment to being in business on their own account. Beyond this, many are considering this approach by looking to build a career in the interim profession.

This is rarely done as a ‘snap’ decision. It is our experience that people take their time to consider the pros and cons, including the basics of how to find work, how much income is ‘enough’, how am I going to position myself, how do I operate and so on.

Obtaining the answers to these and a range of other ‘hard’ questions brings a sense of reality to the thought process which balances some of the perhaps more romantic notions implied in ‘being your own boss’. Having a well thought-through approach brings a sense of how to make the transition work.

Building on this is the need to decide whether the individual can translate a successful ‘corporate’ career into a productive one as an interim practitioner, where you stand or fall on your own efforts. This does not suit everyone, and it is sensible to learn as much as you can before making a final full commitment to the career change.

As part of its remit to educate about the profession, the IIM is running a webinar that introduces people to the main themes that need addressing when considering this career transition.

Our main speaker is Laurence Frantzis from Interim Partners at NSCG.  Laurence is the practice lead for the manufacturing and engineering division.

We are also pleased to have available for the session Simon Hudson, co-founder of boutique consultancy Morphosis Partners. Simon has spent 20 years supporting the interests of Interim Professionals to continue to excel in changeable marketplaces. Simon’s capabilities include: defining your interim brand, decision maker network development, providing a ‘whole relevant market’ view of access for assignment acquisition and discrete sounding board. This activity is bespoke, keeping the interest of the interim practitioner ‘front and centre’. Morphosis Partners has been known to the IIM for a number of years and currently facilitates the provision of a series of seminars which have been developed in partnership with the IIM.

Supporting our main speakers is Tony Evans, Co-Chair of the IIM who has been an interim practitioner for over 25 years, operating internationally at CEO level.

Hosting the event is Bruce Rayner, an IIM Director and practicing interim for over 25 years, also operating internationally at CEO level.

Outline Programme: The webinar is planned to be interactive and will include every opportunity to ask questions. Please allow an hour in your diaries for the event.

Seminar Take-Aways: by the end of the webinar you will have –

    • Obtained a thorough understanding of the key areas to consider in setting yourself up as an interim professional.
    • Been able to find where key support points are available to start your new career direction effectively.
    • Had the opportunity to ask questions of people who have been through the process themselves.
    • Become clearer about the shape of your action list to get to a clear decision point for you.

This event is FREE to all, with recordings made available after to those who register.

  • IIM Webinar: Achieving sustainable assignment acquisition success as an interim professional

Who’d have predicted the seismic changes witnessed across the globe resulting from the global pandemic? Yet, rather like the financial crisis of 2008-09 interim practitioners have shown great resilience. IR35 still brings complexity and a continued need for education and clarity but overall, the profession is in a strong position to make good of the opportunities ahead.

The IIM, as the voice of the interim profession, are acutely aware of both the shifting sands in the marketplace and the varied thoughts, considerations and needs of the membership to thrive rather than survive through these times.

To meet this membership need, the IIM has found in Morphosis Partners, a business who has a reputation in enabling interim professionals to thrive especially in interim brand development through achieving sustainable assignment acquisition success.

The IIM invite you to attend this FREE webinar which will provide you with the opportunity to:-
