About the Panel:

Adrian Marlowe, is the founder and Managing Director of Lawspeed, the recruitment law specialist consultancy, and co founder and Chair of the trade organisation the Association of Recruitment Consultancies (ARC), the UK’s fastest growing recruiter trade body.   Since 1997 Lawspeed has been involved in various legislative consultations including the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, Managed Services Company legislation and the Agency Workers Regulations.  Adrian is widely regarded as a leading authority on recruitment law.

More recently Adrian’s work on behalf of the ARC has achieved significant changes to the Agency Workers Regulations and has helped instigate the government’s latest consultation into Employment Tribunal procedures.   Adrian is also a member of the Genesis Initiative, a cross parliamentary SME support group, and is one of two appointed representatives responsible for reporting on the Agency Workers Regulations to the European SME group UAPME, which feeds into the European Parliament. Adrian qualified as  Solicitor in 1978, and worked as a partner in three law firms before setting up Lawspeed.  He is a regular speaker at events on recruitment related issues.

Tom Hadley, Director of Policy and Professional Services at the REC.   Tom has been Formulating REC policy in key areas including employment, healthcare and procurement; Managing the Employment Policy Committee and member involvement through working groups and regional forums.  Tom also works with REC sector groups and regional directors on lobbying and press campaigns and represents the REC on the board of Eurociett, the representative body for the recruitment industry across Europe and on various Government committees.

Michael J Linden has been a Partner of Nyman Linden since 1978 and Senior Partner since 2001 when he succeeded Eddie Nyman – the firm’s founder. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.Whilst responsible for the overall strategy and management of the firm, he has built up a substantial portfolio of clients across many business sectors.  Michael’s clients enjoy his ‘hands-on’ approach to helping them and their businesses achieve their potential.  His professional work extends to general, financial and commercial advice.  Michael works with business clients from start-up enterprises to long-standing, multi-million pound concerns.

Melanie Metcalf  A Career Interim for 13 years specialising in Human Resources’ strategy & solutions, with nearly 30 assignments completed to date. Employment Tribunal Lay Member and Workplace Mediator.  Melanie has worked in Organisational Change, Restructuring, Downsizing, Change Management, Employee Relations, Trade Unions’ Negotiation, Employment Law, TUPE, Outsourcing, Off-Shoring, Insourcing.   Melanie has been an IIM member since 2002.
