Guide to Interim CVs

The Guide to Interim CVs

The IIM published its first guide to interim CVs in Februray 2011 – a 2nd edition is ‘in the works’.

The Interim Manager’s CV is a document unique in its ability to consume the time and attention of an Interim Manager in its creation and manipulation. Yet it may also be reviewed and considered in a matter of seconds, when qualifying assignment candidates against a requirement.

There is ample advice available online, or in books, about how to write a great CV. Such advice is typically aimed at the permanent job seeker.

Many features that make a CV great, apply equally to the CV of an Interim Manager, but there are many important differences when communicating a business ‘fit’ for an Interim assignment as opposed to seeking permanent employment.

These differences differentiate the professional interim, highlighting a ‘professional assignment offering’ rather than a ‘permanent employee’.

These are of course ‘guidelines’, so if something different works for you, don’t let us deter you!
